Speedway Grand Prix announces permanent wild card selections

The Speedway Grand Prix (SGP) commission has finalized the participant list for the upcoming season, announcing four permanent wild cards: Maciej Janowski, Jack Holder, Daniel Bewley, and Fredrik Lindgren.

Expert Jan Krzystyniak noted that while Holder and Janowski's selections were expected, the inclusion of Polish riders marks a positive shift compared to previous years. Krzystyniak also expressed surprise that Dan Bewley was not selected, citing the Briton's high performance level prior to an injury-interrupted season.

The decision has sparked debate regarding the exclusion of Anders Thomsen. Despite winning the Grand Prix in Malilla and finishing the season in 11th place with 62 points, Thomsen did not receive a wild card. Expert Hans Andersen remarked that while Thomsen's omission is regrettable, the Dane had ample opportunities as the first reserve to secure a higher ranking in the general classification.
