Spencer Cox's family leads Duchenne muscular dystrophy awareness campaign

Seven‑year‑old Spencer Cox from Lake Macquarie, Australia, was diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) at age four. His parents, Harley Christensen and Tristram Cox, have made him the face of the Children’s Medical Research Institute’s Jeans for Genes campaign to raise funds for DMD research and potential treatments. The family hopes the campaign will help other children with the condition, noting, "It is not just about my family, it's about looking after everyone else's family and future generations," said Tristram Cox.
