Aaron Judge exits Yankees game with lower leg tightness
New York Yankees superstar Aaron Judge exited a game against the Minnesota Twins due to right lower leg tightness. The injury occurred during a Wednesday matchup, shortly after Judge had returned from a three-month absence caused by a rib stress fracture. Judge stated he felt the tightness in the first inning but continued playing until being replaced by Heliot Ramos in the sixth inning to avoid further disadvantage to the team.
The Yankees lost the game 5-4 in 13 innings. The injury has raised concerns regarding Judge's availability for the upcoming postseason, as the team is currently in a tight race for divisional standing. Manager Aaron Boone indicated the team would monitor Judge's condition following intensive treatment.
In other roster news, the Yankees activated pitcher Clarke Schmidt from the 60-day injured list. Schmidt, returning from Tommy John surgery, made his first appearance in over 14 months as a reliever. To make room for Schmidt on the 40-man roster, the club designated Oswaldo Cabrera for assignment.
