Spencer Matthews discusses return to moderate alcohol consumption

Reality television personality Spencer Matthews has addressed his relationship with alcohol during an appearance on Katherine Ryan’s podcast, ‘What’s My Age Again?’. During the interview, Matthews confirmed that he does drink, noting preferences for a cold beer or white Burgundy, such as Puligny-Montrachet.

The revelation caused confusion among fans on social media, many of whom believed the 38-year-old was maintaining total sobriety. Matthews has a well-documented history of struggling with alcoholism, which he previously addressed after giving up drinking in 2018 prior to the birth of his first child.

While Matthews founded the non-alcoholic spirits brand CleanCo in 2019, he has previously clarified that he is not a complete abstainer. In 2021, he stated he had returned to drinking in moderation and had developed a positive relationship with alcohol, emphasizing that he remains sober most of the time.
