Pratt met with Donald Trump to discuss a proposal for a 25% federal film tax credit aimed at incentivizing studios to keep production jobs within the United States rather than moving to international locations. Pratt criticized the California state leadership for allowing jobs to migrate to hubs such as Hungary.

Mauricio Umansky has also addressed his potential political future, noting that while he is not currently running for mayor of Los Angeles, he has considered it. Umansky, a registered independent, expressed a desire to bring balance to the political landscape and focus on bringing businesses and employment back to the city.
