Spencer Pratt Secures Runoff Spot in Los Angeles Mayoral Election
Former reality‑TV star Spencer Pratt advanced to the November runoff for Los Angeles mayor, finishing second in the top‑two primary with about 29 % of the vote while incumbent Mayor Karen Bass led with roughly 36 %. Under California’s primary system, Bass and Pratt will face off on Election Day.
Pratt, a registered Republican who lost his Pacific Palisades home in the 2025 wildfires, campaigned on aggressive homeless sweeps, tougher policing, business revival and holding the Bass administration accountable for disaster response. After the early results, he told reporters, “I’m going to go all the way, and I’m going to show everybody that I’m their mayor,” and added, “The Communists already lost.”
The race has attracted attention from Hollywood and Silicon Valley, with entertainers and donors such as Scooter Braun and co‑founder Sergey Brin publicly supporting Pratt. Extremist commentator Nick Fuentes used the election to call for a “fascist dictator” to take over major cities, referencing Pratt’s candidacy in a separate rant.
