Catanzaro expands urban video surveillance network

The Municipality of Catanzaro has finalized the awarding of contracts for the technological evolution and expansion of its urban video surveillance system. The project is funded through the 2014-2020 'Legalità' Operational Program.

Following a proposal for budget restructuring approved by the Ministry of the Interior, the total funding has been set at 1,050,116.19 euros, including VAT. This includes the original surveillance project valued at 250,116.19 euros and the 'Project Iride,' which allocates 800,000 euros to enhance monitoring in the northern and southern areas of the city.

The upgrades will focus on strengthening the network in peripheral residential neighborhoods and implementing technological updates for the road networks within the historic center. The initiative aims to create a more integrated and effective system to support local territory control and crime prevention.
