Spezia winger Kevin Cannavò sidelined for a month as Palermo midfielder Palumbo vows a stronger season

Spezia Calcio announced that winger Kevin Cannavò suffered a proximal biceps femoris muscle tear during a preseason friendly against Empoli. Medical scans confirm he will miss the first month of the campaign, ruling him out of the upcoming Coppa Italia tie with Torres and the opening Serie B fixtures against Grosseto, Campobasso and possibly Sambenedettese.

Palermo’s midfielder Davide Palumbo, despite a lingering knee discomfort, expressed confidence ahead of the new season. He highlighted the team’s improved fitness compared with last year, the tactical shift to a 4‑2‑3‑1 formation, and the ambition to surpass the 72 points earned previously and push for promotion to Serie A. Palumbo emphasized positive morale among the squad and supporters, aiming to correct the small details that cost them promotion last season.
