SPFL Tennent’s Sixes indoor football tournament returns

The SPFL Tennent’s Sixes indoor football tournament is returning to the Scottish football calendar. The competition, which originally ran from 1984 to 1993, has been revived with official backing from the SPFL.

Scheduled for the weekend of October 3 and 4 at the Braehead Arena, the tournament will feature players from the recent past representing their former clubs. All Scottish Premiership clubs, including Celtic, have signed up for the legends competition. Participants will wear their clubs’ official kits from the current season.

The tournament format includes three regionalized groups of four teams, with winners, runners-up, and the two best third-placed sides advancing to knockout rounds. To ensure decisive results, matches level at the end of normal time will proceed directly to penalty shootouts. The competition will also feature a sin bin. The event is set to be broadcast live on Premier Sports.
