SPFW showcases dark aesthetics and feminine contrasts

The 61st edition of São Paulo Fashion Week (SPFW) features a diverse range of collections, highlighting both dark aesthetics and the balance of feminine strength and delicacy.

Lilly Sarti presented a collection inspired by the Year of the Goat (2027), utilizing jacquards with horn-like patterns. The designs balance romanticism and structure through a mix of fluid fabrics like tulle and georgette alongside heavier materials such as gabardine, cotton, and sheep leather. The collection also incorporates color blocking with shades of brown, mustard, red, and blue.

Other designers are exploring gothic and punk influences. Alexandre Herchcovitch revisited gothic inspirations, using vinyl, latex, and transparent lace to blend 19th-century silhouettes with 1980s punk attitudes. Forca Studio presented a dystopian-themed collection featuring leather and specialized fabrics treated with heat and combustion to create worn, irregular surfaces, resulting in silhouettes that act as urban armor.
