Spice Girls feud: Geri Halliwell blocks Mel B, sparks Thatcher comment backlash

Geri Halliwell celebrated the 30th anniversary of the Spice Girls' debut single "Wannabe" with a black‑and‑white Instagram post that thanked her bandmates but omitted a proper tag for Melanie "Mel B" Brown. Fans noted that Geri does not follow Mel B on the platform and vice‑versa, leading to speculation that Halliwell had blocked the singer after the anniversary post.

Earlier, Melanie C criticised Halliwell for a 1996 interview in which she described former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher as "the first Spice Girl". Mel C said the comment fills her with dread and highlighted that the group’s members have long held differing political views. She also spoke about the band’s past struggles, ongoing discussions about future projects, and the lingering tension within the group.
