SpiceJet faces passenger unrest following major flight delays

SpiceJet passengers have experienced significant disruptions across multiple routes, leading to confrontations with airline staff and extended travel delays.

At Kolkata airport, passengers traveling on a flight to Bengaluru engaged in heated exchanges with airline employees following an hours-long delay. Reports and video footage suggest the delay may have been caused by the airline failing to clear fuel payments. Passengers also alleged that the airline was short-staffed, complicating the boarding process.

In a separate incident, flight SG-5124 from Jaipur to Dubai was delayed by more than 12 hours. Originally scheduled to depart on Sunday evening, the flight was rescheduled for Monday morning, with the airline citing operational reasons. This follows previous reports of similar delays on the Jaipur-Dubai route, including one instance where a flight was delayed by up to 23 hours.
