SpiceJet flight faces chaos after reported AC failure in Delhi

Passengers on SpiceJet flight SG-105, traveling from Delhi to Pune, experienced a significant ordeal due to a reported air conditioning failure. On a Tuesday night, more than 100 passengers, including children, elderly individuals, and pregnant women, reported extreme heat and humidity inside the cabin while the aircraft was on the tarmac at Indira Gandhi International Airport.

Witnesses and passengers described a chaotic scene where some travelers experienced difficulty breathing and felt suffocated. The situation escalated into a protest on the runway after passengers demanded the flight be aborted. Some passengers reportedly required assistance to disembark due to dizziness and heat exhaustion.

SpiceJet acknowledged a “last-minute technical issue” and provided an alternative aircraft, which eventually departed around 5:30 a.m. the following morning. While passengers and witnesses alleged the air conditioning had failed, a SpiceJet spokesperson stated that the “air conditioning remained operational throughout” and suggested that discomfort may have been caused by prevailing weather conditions in Delhi.
