SpiceJet flights face operational disruptions at Delhi airport

SpiceJet flights experienced significant operational disruptions at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport on Saturday, resulting in numerous delays and cancellations. Airport authorities issued an advisory stating that on-ground teams are coordinating with the airline and relevant stakeholders to assist affected passengers.

The disruptions follow a pattern of recent issues for the low-cost carrier, including a September 15 incident where passengers protested rescheduling and delays on Dubai-bound flights. SpiceJet has been facing ongoing financial and operational challenges, which have contributed to a portion of its fleet being grounded.

In a separate regulatory matter, the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) previously penalized SpiceJet for using deceptive “dark patterns” on its booking platform. The authority found the airline used interface designs that automatically enrolled customers into loyalty programs and promotional communications without explicit affirmative consent.
