Spider and Wet Look Lashes emerge as major beauty trends

A new eyelash makeup trend is gaining popularity for the upcoming season, characterized by dramatic, defined, and textured looks. Known variously as ‘Spider Lashes’ or ‘Wet Look Lashes’ (also referred to as spiky lashes), the style moves away from the subtle ‘Ghost Lashes’ of previous months toward a more expressive aesthetic.

Spider Lashes, a look reminiscent of the 2000s and originally popularized by 1960s icon Twiggy, involve applying thick layers of mascara to create intentionally clumpy, separated lashes. This style has been notably adopted by celebrities such as Zendaya, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Dua Lipa.

Similarly, the ‘Wet Look’ trend focuses on individual lash definition and targeted gaps to create a glossy, damp appearance. Data from the beauty platform Fresha indicates a 41 percent surge in searches for this style, which has been showcased on red carpets by Kim Kardashian and Zendaya.
