Spider-Man: A New Day expected to be re-released with extra scenes

The film ‘Spider-Man: A New Day’ is expected to receive a theatrical re-release featuring previously unreleased footage. Reports indicate that the new version will include the return of Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, a nurse character who has appeared in various Marvel series such as ‘Daredevil’ and ‘Luke Cage’.

According to screenwriters, the character was intended to assist Spider-Man following a confrontation with the Scorpion, but the scene was cut from the original release. Additionally, director Destin Daniel Cretton has noted that footage involving the hero facing classic comic book characters was also removed. While a specific release date has not been announced, it is anticipated that Sony will select a period with lower box office competition for the re-release.
