Spider-Man: Brand New Day adds Samsung Spidey Tracker and SCREENX rollout

Samsung Electronics and Sony Pictures have turned a plot device from the upcoming Spider‑Man film into a real‑world interactive site called the Spidey Tracker. Built on Samsung Galaxy devices, the website lets fans submit sightings, unlock easter eggs and receive alerts about cast appearances ahead of the film’s July 31 release. It is live in 35 countries and is promoted as a way to showcase how "even your friendly neighborhood hero relies only on Samsung Galaxy," said Samsung CMO Keena Grigsby, while Sony’s Jeffrey Godsick called the collaboration a chance for fans to engage beyond the theater.

In parallel, Sony is partnering with CJ 4DPLEX to present Spider‑Man: Brand New Day in the immersive SCREENX format. SCREENX expands the onscreen action onto the side walls of specially equipped auditoriums, using side‑wall footage captured on set – the first time a major studio film has employed unique on‑set photography for this purpose. Director Destin Daniel Cretton and CJ 4DPLEX CEO Jun Bang said the format enhances the visual experience while preserving the director’s vision.
