Spider-Man: Brand New Day breaks domestic box office record
Spider-Man: Brand New Day has set a new record for the highest domestic box office gross in the United States and Canada, surpassing the previous record held by Star Wars: The Force Awakens since 2015. After 47 days in theaters, the film reached approximately USD 938 million in unadjusted revenue, overtaking the USD 936.66 million mark established by the Star Wars production.
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige noted that the film's development and release schedule faced significant delays due to actor Tom Holland's involvement in Christopher Nolan's production, La Odisea. The scheduling conflicts between the two major projects reportedly added approximately six months to the Spider-Man production timeline and caused periods of creative uncertainty for Marvel and Sony.
