Spider-Man: Brand New Day adds Shocker, MJ grave scene, costume tribute

A newly released clip from Spider‑Man: Brand New Day shows MJ standing beside Aunt May’s grave, confirming a long‑standing fan theory that the character will visit the cemetery despite the memory‑erasing spell from No Way Home. The scene hints at lingering emotional ties that may shape Peter Parker’s next chapter.

Rumors from multiple sources claim that the villain Shocker, first seen in Spider‑Man: Homecoming, will return in Brand New Day, joining confirmed antagonists such as Scorpion, Boomerang, Tarantula and the Hand. If present, Shocker would become the second Homecoming villain to reappear, potentially escalating the hero’s challenges.

Tom Holland revealed that his new Spider‑Man suit blends design elements from Tobey Maguire’s and Andrew Garfield’s previous costumes as an Easter‑egg tribute. The film is positioned as a mystery‑driven outing, with Holland describing it as a “detective” story. The movie also introduces Sadie Sink in an undisclosed role, speculated to be the mutant Jean Grey. Brand New Day is scheduled for U.S. release on July 31, 2026.
