Spider-Man: Brand New Day breaks North American box office record
Spider-Man: Brand New Day, starring Tom Holland and directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, has become the highest-grossing film in North American box office history. After 47 days in theaters, the film reached approximately $936.77 million in the United States and Canada, surpassing the previous record held by Star Wars: The Force Awakens since 2015.
Globally, the film has earned $2.45 billion, positioning it as the third highest-grossing movie of all time, trailing only Avatar and Avengers: Endgame. The production, a collaboration between Sony Pictures and Marvel, saw a massive opening weekend of $360 million.
While the record is based on nominal revenue and does not account for inflation, the achievement marks a significant milestone for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Sony Pictures executives have celebrated the film as a historic moment for the studio.
