Spider-Man: Brand New Day surpasses $2.4 billion at global box office

Spider-Man: Brand New Day, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and starring Tom Holland, has achieved historic success at the global box office, surpassing $2.4 billion in total earnings. The film has become the third highest-grossing movie of all time, overtaking Avatar: The Way of Water.

Domestically, the film is approaching a major milestone. It has earned over $924 million in North America, making it only the second film in history to pass the $900 million mark in the United States and Canada. It is currently closing in on the all-time domestic record held by Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens.

The production, a collaboration between Sony and Marvel, saw a massive opening weekend of approximately $360 million, setting a new record for the largest domestic opening. While the film has dominated the box office for six weeks, industry projections suggest its reign may soon end with the upcoming release of Practical Magic 2.
