Spider-Man: Brand New Day reveals Hulk concept art and deleted scenes

New details and concept art have emerged regarding the film ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’, specifically concerning the character Hulk. Concept designs for Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk included alternative looks such as a bearded version and a Grey Hulk, inspired by classic comic book aesthetics. These designs were not used in the final production.

Additionally, stunt performer James Unsworth revealed that an earlier version of the climactic fight between Spider-Man and a mind-controlled Hulk was altered following test screenings. In the original sequence, Spider-Man used a Shocker gauntlet to deliver a punch that knocked Hulk unconscious. Test audiences reportedly felt this made Hulk appear too weak.

The scene was subsequently refilmed so that Hulk ends the attack himself by being thrown into a building, allowing him to maintain his status as a physical powerhouse while breaking free from psychic control.
