Spider-Man: Brand New Day to receive theatrical re-release with new footage

Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios are planning a theatrical re-release of ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ featuring previously unreleased footage. The extended version is expected to include a scene with Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, a character from the Marvel Netflix series, which was originally cut from the theatrical release.

The film has achieved massive commercial success, grossing approximately $2.495 billion worldwide and becoming the highest-grossing film in North American history with over $950 million. The re-release aims to capitalize on this momentum, potentially pushing the film toward the $3 billion global mark and the $1 billion domestic milestone.

In addition to the theatrical return, home media release dates have been identified. The film is scheduled to arrive on digital platforms on October 6, 2026, followed by a physical release on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD on December 15, 2026.
