Spider-Man: Brand New Day to re-release in theaters and on 4K Blu-ray

Spider-Man: Brand New Day, a joint production between Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures, is set for both a theatrical re-release and a home media launch following its massive global box office success. The film has grossed nearly $2.5 billion worldwide, making it the highest-grossing film of the year and the third-highest-grossing of all time.

Reports indicate the film will return to theaters later this year featuring additional footage. This re-release may assist in building momentum for the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday. In North America, the film has reached $950.6 million, approaching the milestone of $1 billion in domestic earnings.

For home viewing, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced a 4K Blu-ray release scheduled for December 15. The release will include two different steelbook editions: a mainstream version and a Limited Collector’s Edition featuring a magnetic lenticular cover, a custom comic book, and various collectible items. The 4K presentation will support Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, accompanied by ten featurettes exploring the production and Tom Holland’s role.
