Spider-Man variant cover pays homage to One Piece's Luffy

A new variant cover for The Amazing Spider-Man #1000 features Peter Parker in a pose that pays homage to Monkey D. Luffy from the manga and anime series One Piece. The artwork, illustrated by Mico Suayan, depicts Spider-Man in a crouched position with legs spread and a fist on the ground, surrounded by steam, mimicking Luffy’s Gear 2 activation technique.

This illustration is a tribute rather than an official crossover between Marvel and One Piece. The variant cover is an exclusive release from Big Time Collectibles and is scheduled to be sold at the New York Comic Con. Prices for the cover start at $19.99 for unrated versions, while CGC-certified copies are priced from $79.99. This is not the first time the retailer has used this specific Luffy reference, having previously released a similar Batman variant cover.
