SPIEGEL bestseller lists feature new number-one titles

The SPIEGEL bestseller lists for the week of August 13, 2026, feature several new number-one titles across various categories. In the hardcover fiction category, Nina Schilling has reached the top spot with ‘And Midnight Fades to Dawn’, the conclusion to her ‘The Day and Night Duet’ series.

In the paperback fiction category, a limited special edition of Sebastian Fitzek’s thriller ‘Amokspiel’ has claimed the first place position. The publisher reported that this edition sold nearly 30,000 copies in its first week. The original psychological thriller, first released in 2007, has sold over 700,000 copies to date.

Additionally, Freida McFadden remains a top performer on the charts. In the non-fiction and advice categories, ‘Bibel-Diät - Das vergessene Gesundheitswissen der Heiligen Schrift’ by Jordan Rubin and Josh Axe entered the charts, reaching second place in the ‘Eating & Drinking / Nutrition’ category and 18th in the overall advice rankings.
