SPIEL Essen board game fair highlights diverse programming and high attendance

The SPIEL board game fair in Essen is preparing for its upcoming event, which expects to host over 200,000 visitors across four days. Due to high demand, organizers recommend purchasing tickets online in advance, as many days, including Saturdays, have previously sold out.

Beyond game demonstrations, the event features the ‘SPIEL Talks’ series, which includes panel discussions and lectures on diverse topics such as politics, education, inclusion, and journalism. Specific discussions will address the ethics of game production and fair manufacturing practices, featuring organizations like Fair Toys Organisation e. V. Additionally, several games themed around global politics and social hierarchies, such as ‘Political Poker’ and ‘Tax the Rich’, will be showcased.
