Spielberg: Man arrested after pointing revolver at police

A 67-year-old man in Spielberg, Austria, was arrested after pointing an unloaded revolver at police officers on Monday morning. The incident began when officers responded to a noise complaint regarding loud music coming from a ground-floor apartment.

When officers attempted to communicate with the resident through an open window, they observed him handling a handgun. Despite orders to put the weapon down, the man aimed the revolver at the officers and pulled the trigger. Because the weapon was not loaded, no shots were fired. The officers retreated and summoned the Cobra special forces unit, which subsequently apprehended the suspect.

Following the arrest, authorities discovered two handguns in the residence; one was legally owned, while the second is suspected to be illegal. A sobriety test indicated moderate alcohol intoxication. The suspect has confessed to the act, citing alcohol influence, and is currently being held in the Leoben judicial prison pending further legal proceedings.
