Spinal health management and PRP regulation for discopathy

Low back pain remains a leading cause of disability worldwide, according to the World Health Organization. Medical experts emphasize that treating spinal issues requires a multisystemic approach, addressing movement patterns, muscle strength, and posture rather than focusing solely on the skeletal structure.

Recently, the Federal Council of Medicine regulated the use of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) for specific osteomuscular conditions, including lumbar discopathy. This technique uses a concentration of platelets from the patient's own blood to assist in tissue repair.

However, specialists warn that a reduction in pain does not necessarily equate to full functional recovery. Patients may experience symptom relief while still maintaining movement alterations or muscle weaknesses that could lead to future spinal strain.
