Halloween season triggers global retail expansion and cultural festivities
As the autumn season approaches, various regions and retailers are preparing for Halloween and seasonal festivities.
In the United States, Spirit Halloween continues its widespread pop-up presence, utilizing vacant commercial spaces to offer costumes and decor. Its sister concept, Spirit Christmas, is undergoing significant expansion, with new locations slated for Florida and Tennessee. Retailer Aldi is also launching seasonal products, including Disney-themed crafts and Halloween-specific food items.
In Ireland, community events are highlighting the cultural roots of the season. The Samhain in the Heartlands program in Longford and Westmeath features approximately 50 events, including storytelling and traditional music. Additionally, the Butlers Chocolate Experience is offering themed tours.
Other regional activities include fall festivals in Abbotsford, Canada, featuring pumpkin patches and orchards, and musical performances in Auckland, New Zealand. Digital and literary offerings also coincide with the season, ranging from themed updates in the Pikmin Bloom app to curated children's book lists.
