Spirit film to receive adult rating, confirms director Sandeep Reddy Vanga

Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga has confirmed that the upcoming police action drama ‘Spirit’, starring Prabhas, is expected to receive an ‘A’ certificate from the censor board. Vanga stated that the film is being designed as an intense and violent production, noting that an adult rating should not come as a surprise to audiences familiar with his previous works, such as ‘Arjun Reddy’, ‘Kabir Singh’, and ‘Animal’.

In the film, Prabhas will portray a police officer. The project is currently scheduled for a theatrical release in March 2027. Vanga also addressed the film’s release window, which sits approximately 37 days before the release of SS Rajamouli’s ‘Varanasi’, starring Mahesh Babu. While acknowledging ‘Varanasi’ as a larger film, Vanga expressed confidence that the gap between the two major releases would be sufficient.
