Spiritism doctrine debates salvation, faith and the risk of dogmatization

Discussions within the Spiritist movement highlight a distinct view of salvation compared with other Christian denominations. The doctrine stresses that belief in Jesus must be combined with active charity and works, rejecting the notion that faith alone guarantees salvation. References to biblical passages such as John 10:9, John 14:6, Acts 16:30‑31 and James 2:14‑26 are used to argue that salvation requires both faith and deeds.

A separate analysis warns against "igrejismo" – the gradual clericalisation and dogmatic transformation of Spiritism into a religion resembling the churches it originally opposed.
