Spiro appoints Auroasish Choudhuri to lead West and Central Africa expansion
Electric motorcycle company Spiro has appointed Auroasish Choudhuri as Managing Director for West and Central Africa. Choudhuri, an automotive veteran with over 20 years of experience, will oversee mobility operations in these regions and report to Kaushik Burman, the company’s CEO of Mobility.
This appointment follows a recent leadership restructuring and a $270 million fundraising round in June. Under the new structure, Anant Badjatya has been named Group CEO, while Burman has transitioned to lead the mobility services division. This reorganization is designed to separate Spiro’s rider-facing mobility operations from its broader business interests, which include vehicle manufacturing, logistics, energy infrastructure, and battery swapping.
Choudhuri joins Spiro from DAG Industries, where he served as CEO with oversight of operations in Nigeria and Benin. His previous experience includes roles at TVS Motor Company and Escorts Limited.
