Spitfire Audio and BT release Phoenix hybrid synthesizer

Spitfire Audio and Grammy-nominated producer BT (Brian Transeau) have released Phoenix, a hybrid synthesizer marking their third collaboration. The instrument blends BT’s personal archive of vintage synthesizers, samplers, cassettes, and vinyl with orchestral recordings from Spitfire’s libraries.

Phoenix features a stereo-from-the-ground-up design, utilizing two complete synthesis chains per voice to allow independent shaping of each channel. This architecture enables movement, detuning, and spectral modulation to occur during the synthesis process. The instrument includes six engines—including spectral wavetables, FM, and deep sampling—alongside 50 sampled instruments such as strings, brass, and woodwinds.

Additional features include eight MetaSequencers, 37 bespoke effects, and support for 16-voice MPE. The perpetual license is priced at £249, with an introductory price of £199 available through October 25, 2026.
