Split and Dubrovnik host new photography exhibitions
The Fotoklub Split in Croatia opened an exhibition titled "Djeca u ratu – Sarajevo '92‑'95" by renowned Sarajevo photographer Milomir Kovačević Strašni on 7 August. The show presents a series of portraits of children who lived through the siege of Sarajevo, highlighting their resilience and the everyday realities of war.
In Dubrovnik, the Galerija otok will present photographer Mara Bratoš’s exhibition "Skrivena mjesta Grada" from 11 August to 1 September. The collection juxtaposes black‑and‑white images taken in 1995, shortly after the Croatian War of Independence, with new photographs from 2025, revealing how once‑busy urban spaces have become hidden or inaccessible over three decades.
Both exhibitions explore the lasting impact of conflict on everyday life and the changing urban landscape in the former Yugoslav region.
