Split begins 2.3 million euro reconstruction of Poljička road

Construction has commenced on a 360-meter section of Poljička road in Split, Croatia, as part of an extraordinary maintenance project for state road DC410. The project, valued at 2.3 million euros excluding VAT, focuses on the stretch between the Trondheimska and Velebitska street intersections.

The works include renewing the roadway, repairing and expanding a pedestrian overpass with new access stairs, and improving pedestrian and bicycle paths. Additionally, the project involves reconstructing signalized intersections, renewing drainage and public lighting, and separating storm and sewage systems. The contract was awarded to a consortium consisting of MAR from Samobor and COLAS Hrvatska from Varaždin, with an estimated completion time of 200 working days.

Split Mayor Tomislav Šuta noted that the city is undergoing a significant investment cycle in both state and city roads. Following this phase, Croatian Roads (Hrvatske ceste) plans to continue the reconstruction of Poljička road toward the Ine gas station. Future plans also include the construction of two new underpasses to improve pedestrian connectivity and relieve intersection congestion.
