Split expands alternative scene with new festival and music project
The city of Split is seeing a surge in alternative cultural initiatives. The first edition of the ‘Tinta na Suncu - Split Ink & Street Culture Festival’ is scheduled for October 3 and 4, 2026, at Klub Porat. This event aims to establish Split as a regional hub for tattoo art and street culture through professional competitions involving various stylistic categories.
Simultaneously, the local independent music scene is documenting its current state through the ‘ALO!’ compilation project. Recording has commenced at Klub Kocka, featuring twelve independent bands and musical authors spanning genres from punk and hardcore to experimental music. The project, supported by the City of Split and organized by Dragan Đokić Đole in collaboration with the Mudri Brk record label, includes both audio and video documentation of the performers.
