Split hosts 4th Meeting of Croatian Klapa Groups from abroad

The 4th Meeting of Croatian Klapa Groups from Outside the Republic of Croatia was held at the Croatian National Theatre in Split. The event featured nine musical ensembles representing Croatia and various international locations, including Argentina, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Hungary, Germany, and Serbia.

Organized by the Croatian Diaspora Matica and the City of Split, the event was held under the patronage of the Government of the Republic of Croatia. This year's gathering held special significance as the Croatian Diaspora Matica celebrates its 75th anniversary of operation.

During the ceremony, Zdeslav Milas, director of the Croatian Diaspora Matica, highlighted the importance of third and fourth-generation descendants preserving the unique klapa musical tradition despite living far from their homeland. Split Mayor Tomislav Šuta reaffirmed the city's commitment to supporting such manifestations, noting Split and Dalmatia's role as the cradle of klapa music.
