Split initiates procurement for Turska kula Park&Ride garage
The municipal company Split parking has launched a preliminary consultation for the design and construction of the Turska kula intermodal hub in Split, Croatia. The project, estimated to be worth approximately 29.2 million euros excluding VAT, will provide 620 new parking spaces and integrated infrastructure for public transport, bicycles, and taxis.
The procurement follows a design-and-build model, meaning the selected contractor will be responsible for both the project documentation and the execution of works. The facility is planned to include two underground and three above-ground floors. This project is part of a broader infrastructure plan aimed at reducing traffic congestion in Split's city center.
Local political reactions have emerged regarding the project. Former deputy mayor Bojan Ivošević criticized Mayor Tomislav Šuta, alleging inconsistency in the administration's use of the design-and-build model compared to other municipal projects.
