Split district elections approach as candidates present local programs

Residents of Split are preparing to vote in upcoming district council elections this Sunday. The elections cover 34 district councils and local committees, focusing on local issues such as urban planning, parking, infrastructure, and communal order.

Various political coalitions and independent lists are campaigning across the city. The Domovinski pokret is running in all 34 districts in coalition with the HDZ, emphasizing their previous work on playgrounds and parking. Other coalitions, including Centar, SDP, Možemo!, and Direkta, have called for citizens to vote to prevent party machines from dominating local decision-making.

In specific districts, candidates are presenting localized programs. In Kman, Marko Pavić is seeking a third mandate with a focus on urban solutions and public garages. In Trstenik, the HDZ-DP coalition list, led by Ana Domazet, is proposing new playgrounds and sports facilities. In Sućidar, Damir Roda Ćosić is campaigning with an independent list, ‘Za bolji Sućidar’, highlighting his previous two terms of service.
