The town of Omiš and surrounding areas in Croatia are facing significant recovery efforts following a catastrophic wildfire. Preliminary damage assessments sent to the Split-Dalmatia County estimate losses at approximately 110 million euros, with over 60 buildings, including homes and hospitality facilities, destroyed or heavily damaged.

Local authorities, led by County Prefect Blaženko Boban and Mayor Zvonko Močić, are coordinating relief. The county has allocated 200,000 euros for immediate remediation, while numerous Croatian cities and municipalities—including Dubrovnik, Split, Zadar, and Rijeka—have pledged substantial financial donations totaling nearly 900,000 euros.

Infrastructure repair is ongoing. HEP ODS reported that electricity has been restored to all users in the affected areas after 200 workers repaired approximately 280 damaged power poles. However, residents face long-term challenges, including potential landslides, unstable terrain, and legal hurdles regarding the compensation for non-permanent or unlegalized structures.
