Splošna bolnišnica Novo mesto and orthopedist Gregor Kavčič have reached a legally binding court settlement to resolve their labor dispute. The agreement concludes all mutual relations stemming from Kavčič’s former employment at the hospital.
Under the terms of the settlement, Kavčič has withdrawn his lawsuit against the hospital. He will not be returning to a regular position at the institution, though the parties noted that future cooperation remains possible through civil law contracts if both sides agree. The settlement carries no financial obligations for either party, and each side will bear its own legal costs.
The dispute began following an extraordinary professional supervision that led the hospital to terminate Kavčič’s employment and remove him as head of the orthopedic surgery department. The hospital had alleged irregularities, including the artificial lengthening of waiting lists and the redirection of patients to a private provider. Kavčič had consistently denied these allegations.
The settlement is a compromise and does not constitute an admission of wrongdoing or the legal validity of either party’s position regarding the termination of the contract.
