Spokane Wildfires Destroy 700 Structures, Displace Thousands

A massive wildfire in Spokane, Washington, known as the Old Trails fire and part of the larger Spokane Complex, has burned more than 10,000 acres. The blaze has destroyed about 700 structures and forced over 60,000 residents to evacuate, though no deaths or injuries have been reported. Firefighters say containment remains at 0% and the threat continues.

Todd Blanche's nomination for U.S. Attorney General cleared a key hurdle when the Senate Judiciary Committee voted 12‑10 along party lines, sending the nomination to the full Senate for consideration.

In Las Vegas, the long‑delayed murder trial of Duane “Keefe D” Davis, accused of orchestrating the 1996 killing of rapper Tupac Shakur, is set to begin on August 10. Davis faces life in prison without parole, and prosecutors have compiled a witness list of more than 200 individuals.
