Spokesperson criticizes Jeff Metcalf over racist remarks

Dominique Alexander, a spokesperson for Karmelo Anthony’s family and founder of the Next Generation Action Network, has criticized Jeff Metcalf for refusing to apologize for racially charged remarks. The controversy follows the sentencing of Karmelo Anthony to 35 years in prison for the murder of Austin Metcalf.

Jeff Metcalf has maintained that he does not view the case through a racial lens, instead blaming Anthony’s supporters for introducing race into a matter of “right and wrong.” However, Alexander stated that Metcalf’s previous comments, including referring to Anthony as a “watermelon felon” and making remarks regarding Black people and EBT benefits, reflect his true character.

Additionally, Alexander noted that Metcalf’s behavior during court hearings was frequently unruly, requiring intervention from law enforcement to maintain order.
