Spolchemie to host emergency drill simulating chlorine leak

The Fire and Rescue Service of the Ústí nad Labem Region is organizing a large-scale tactical exercise at the Spolchemie chemical plant on September 16, 2026. The drill will simulate a chlorine leak resulting from a derailed railway cistern within the facility.

Participants including the Ústí nad Labem Region Fire and Rescue Service, Spolchemie's own rescue units, Railway Administration, police, and medical services will test coordination, decontamination procedures, and the external emergency plan. Local authorities have advised the public that increased emergency vehicle movement and temporary traffic restrictions in the vicinity of the plant should be expected during the four-hour exercise.
