Spoltore hosts Fotofestival 2026 featuring naturalistic and humanistic photography
Spoltore’s Fotofestival 2026 will take place on July 31 and August 1 in Piazza D’Albenzio, positioning the town as a hub for photographic culture in Abruzzo. The first evening focuses on naturalistic photography, beginning at 17:30 with the award ceremony for the XXV Concorso Fotografico Nazionale “La Genziana” at the Spazio Sociale, via Di Marzio. At 19:00 the exhibition “Fragilità: scenari in equilibrio”, curated by Federico De Nicola and Giampiero Mazzocchetti, opens and will remain on view until August 10, 19:00‑22:00. The program also includes a tasting of local products, a performance by Maestro Alessandro Mazzocchetti, and talks by natural‑history specialists.
The second night, August 1, shifts to humanistic photography with the show “GENTE – Istanti di fotografia umanistica”, curated by Giovanni Bucci, Michele Corrieri, Giuseppe Marcantonio, Andrea Morelli and Mauro Vitale. The evening features a project presentation, a talk by Michele Corrieri, and a workshop with the authors, accompanied by video projections and audience dialogue. The festival is organized by Carlo D’Aurizio and Federico De Nicola and backed by the municipal administration and local cultural bodies.
