Sponz Fest 2026 to focus on forest culture in Calitri

The XIV edition of Sponz Fest, titled ‘Sponz Im-Bosck’, will take place in Calitri, Alta Irpinia, from August 26 to 30, 2026. Directed by Vinicio Capossela, the festival focuses on the forest as a cultural, anthropological, and civil laboratory.

The program includes music, workshops, walks, and cultural meetings spanning from the historic village of Calitri to the natural area of Gagliano. Featured performers include John Convertino, Pierpaolo Capovilla, and the Teatro delle Albe. The event also integrates social and environmental initiatives, collaborating with organizations such as Happennino, Carnia per la pace, and Vaia.

Promoted and funded by the Campania Region through Scabec, the festival aims to valorize UNESCO heritage and cultural itineraries. Onofrio Cutaia, the Campania Region's Culture Councilor, stated that internal areas should be recognized as ‘laboratories of the future’ rather than marginal locations.
