Sophie Hinners wins Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix in Vienna

German equestrian Sophie Hinners secured her first Longines Global Champions Tour victory at the Grand Prix in Vienna. Riding the twelve-year-old mare Iron Dames Combella, Hinners completed the jump-off in 43.13 seconds in front of Schloss Schönbrunn. The win earns her a ticket to the Super Grand Prix in Riyadh this November. Peder Fredricson of Sweden took second place, while Olivier Philippaerts of Belgium finished third.

In other sporting news, the second Vienna Climate Run saw nearly 2,000 participants, raising funds to protect forest areas in Austria and Costa Rica, as well as supporting sustainable projects in South Sudan. Additionally, the inaugural Run the Lake Wörthersee Marathon in Austria drew 8,500 runners, with local athletes Leon Fian and Barbara Bischof claiming the men's and women's titles respectively. In gymnastics, the German women's team finished fifth in the World Championship balance final, narrowly missing a medal.
