Sport Boys dispute referee appointment and receive two-point penalty in Peru Liga 1

Sport Boys Association issued a statement ahead of their July 19 match against Los Chankas, questioning the appointment of Edwin Ordóñez as the referee. The club recalled a prior encounter in which a VAR review involving Ordóñez led to a disputed goal, and said it will monitor his performance closely.

Separately, the Licensing Commission of the Peruvian Professional Football League deducted two points from Sport Boys for failing to fulfill labour and contractual obligations for April 2026, including overdue player wages, union dues and AFP contributions. The match will be played at Estadio Los Chankas at 11:00 local time.
