Sport nears permanent signing of Fernando Sobral

Sport is nearing the permanent signing of defensive midfielder Fernando Sobral. The player, who was on loan at Coritiba, will join Sport through December 2028. To secure the deal, Sport has agreed to pay financial compensation to Cuiabá, the club that holds his economic rights.

The transfer was made possible after Coritiba agreed to release the player from his loan early. Sobral has significant experience in Brazilian football, having played for clubs such as Ceará, Cuiabá, Sampaio Corrêa, and Fluminense de Feira. He is expected to undergo medical examinations and sign his contract in the coming days before the transfer window closes on September 11.
